More on Gaddis: As a senior, CJ had 1134 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns. He also threw for 1267 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a junior in baseball he hit .436 with nine home runs and a school-record 29 stolen bases. He’s from the same school as former Clemson basketball player Terrell McIntyre. He played in the Shrine Bowl. He visited North Carolina, but made it clear that he had set up the visit only as a back up plan in case there were coaching changes at Clemson. He received offers from UNC, Georgia, NC State, Wake, Duke, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia Tech and others. Recruited by Mike O'Cain.

Quoting Gaddis: “Everybody knows I am an athlete and I wanted to play quarterback. That was a big part of my decision. Clemson was actually the first school that came to me as a quarterback. Early in the year other schools wanted me as a DB and when they came to see me play they started to change their thought process on me. That is when my recruiting process really started to pick up as a quarterback.”

“I just need to improve on being a better quarterback. If you want to be the best, you’ve got to progress every year and every day make yourself better. I’ve got to improve my game everywhere.”

“Everyone calls me a playmaker. When stuff breaks down, I just go. I’m pretty good at reading coverages and taking what the defense gives us.”
